At its core, (Re)Written’s story hinges on two questions: ❝What if ?❞ and ❝What change would impact your character the most ?❞ What if the heroes failed? What if someone didn’t make it? What if things happened differently? What if one’s friendship didn’t fall apart? What if someone changed sides? What would happen if a core piece of your character’s story is rewritten?

Your characters have awoken in a large, unfamiliar room; they may be alone, they may not, but in either case, the room appears to be an indoor garden. The distant windows are large and the walls are a nearly white shade of pink. Oddly enough, they hear the babble of running water and will find a real stream coursing through the center of the room; it presumably comes and goes into different rooms. The room is thick with flowers and small trees, kept warm either by the sun or heating.A voice calls to them: ❝What sins do you carry ?❞They never lost sight of their home world and their lives. Those memories may haunt them, they may provide comfort or longing or stress. Since their fateful day, their life changed for the worse. Since then, their worst nightmare has been their reality — they, like all others who stir on Dedalera, hail from their worst possible timeline, the one that resonates deeply in their heart. The one where, for them, personally, nothing could’ve gone worse. Through the haze of waking, each of them recall the lives they’d lived up until then. Each must now face this new world, together or alone.

Characters have woken up in a strange 'garden' in an even stranger world. They quickly come face-to-face with a group of five strangers claiming to be natives of this world, Dedalera. They claim that there was a Cataclysmic event several years prior, and that they've been fruitlessly trying to rebuild for at least two years. While some are hesitant, the five end up asking the newcomers if they'll help them rebuild Dedalera; in exchange, the survivors will find them a way home. . .

The World of Dedalera

Dedalera is a Fantasy world set in a vaguely Medieval/Renaissance-style world. Even at its height, it lacked modern conveniences like cars and Internet. However, between its magic and the often forgotten advancements of our own Medieval world, Dedalera was far from simple and underdeveloped. It's possible to restore the world to its former glory through story progression and optional Missions.There are six regions characters can visit: ALMANDINE, DIOPTASE, GARNET, SUGILITE, TURQUOISE, and ZIRCONIA; all characters wake up in Zirconia's Crystal Palace. While there are scattered islands across the world, there are few other landmasses characters can actively reach at this time.

  • Outside of the Five Myosi and the characters, Dedalera is seemingly devoid of other humanoid life. There is still a myriad of wildlife, including chocobos and Moogles, and even vegetation throughout the world, though.

  • By its setting's nature, Dedalera does not have modern technology like cellphones, cars, the Internet, etc. As a rule of thumb, if it didn't exist before ~1700AD (at a maximum), it likely won't exist here.
    Final Fantasy staples like airships, though, will become available through story progression and/or Missions.

  • Dedalera is, at its core, a Fantasy world. A great deal of the lands are naturally magical. There will be vegetation and animals that can use magic, talk, etc.; there will be inanimate objects that appear 'sentient', are enchanted, etc.
    One of Dedalera's most important Fantasy traits is its utilization of STORIES. Available as soon as a character discovers it or during Chapter One, characters can physically enter the Worlds of written stories; those worlds are subject to the Laws of said Worlds, which will be found in each channels' pins. As a rule of thumb, said Worlds will always be progressing through their stories once entered; altering the story is not possible at this time.

  • When characters are sorted into their Houses, they will receive a Crystal from their Myosi; this Crystal corresponds with their House's region and will allow them to communicate with members of their same House at a distance.
